I often walk in downtown because it's the most beautiful part of Bratislava. It's not that big as Vienna's downtown, for example, but even that you walk it thru in few minutes, it's nice to walk down there. When I'm there, I always walk around the U.S. embassy which is located in the absolute heart of Bratislava's downtown. And every time I walk around, it pisses me off.

Andre Shepherd is my new personal hero. He is an american soldier who served in Iraq, then was transfered to Germany. When they wanted to send him back to Iraq, he deserted and asked for asylum in Germany. You really need balls to do this in time of war, because during time of war, desertation is(can be) punished by death penalty.

Andre deserted because he was ashamed of what he did and of what americans did and do in Iraq. There are many versions of this story on the internet, but the core is the same.
